Steward's Appointment Form

I have obtained committment from , that he/she will make his/her very best effort to attend the unit meetings in his/her area and to attend the Annual Stewards Conference.

We have discussed the fact that a Steward's job will involve a varying amount of uncompensated personal time. I have explained that the only time a Steward is compensated by the Local is for actual, straight time wages lost at the request of the Local and for authorized personal expenditures. We have gone over the guidelines concerning time-off/lodging/expenses used for the recent Stewards Conference.

Finally, I have gone completely through the Local 47 Stewards' Handbook with him/her and we discussed the specific grievance procedure that applies to him/her.

At the conclusion of our meeting, the above member stated he/she feels he/she has a good basic understanding of what our Stewards role encompasses and would like to be considered for appointment to fill the aforementioned position.
