•  How to become a Journeyman Lineman?

•  I am trying to contact dispatch, why aren't they answering?

Between 9am - 1pm the dispatchers are unavailable to answer the phones. They dispatch applicants to jobs during these hours. Please contact them from 7am-9am or 1pm-4pm.

•  How to sign the books entry level?

You can come to our Riverside Hall 1405 Spruce St., Suite H. Riverside 92507 between the hours of 7am-9am or 1pm-4pm Monday thru Friday. Fridays they close at 3pm to put your name on the list to go out to work.
Bring your Driver's License/ID with you, and you need to know your SSN.

•  Can I sign the books if I'm currently working in the industry?

No, you will need to provide a term slip in order to sign the books.

•  If I have experience working in the infrastructure/underground sector, or run equipment non-union do you honor those hours?

Yes, if you have experience, you need to have your experience on company letterhead from a previous employer stating your specific tasks/duties/equipment along with your hours worked. You also have to provide paycheck stubs from the company.

•  How to sign the books as a traveler?

•  How do you check my position and re-sign the book?

Login to www.ibew47.org Login 1st time logging in you will use your last name, first initial, last 4 of your SSN as your username and password. At your 1st login attempt you will be prompted to change your password. Once Logged in, enter portal, select Manage/Re-sign.

•  How to Obtain First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 ETD?

You can sign up for a free class with the California Nevada JATC as long as you're an Active IBEW member either on the books or currently working for an outside line contractor. You will not qualify if you're a traveler not working in the jurisdiction/on the books, or if you work for a Utility/Muni.

•  Can I still sign the books with restrictions on my CDL?

Yes, you can.

•  Can I sign the books in Diamond Bar?

No, you can only sign the books at the Riverside location at the designated times.

•  If I miss a call for work, can I call right back and accept?

No, it's considered a Strike, and Dispatch will keep going down the list.

•  When do I get my Health insurance?

The health Insurance will become active when the member works 2 consecutive months of 125 hr each month of Union work. Hours are reported every 30 days.
