City of Riverside
Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) Workers are unsung heroes who do a lot more than just keep our lights on and our water flowing.
While the City of Riverside has struggled to responsibly manage tax dollars and stay in the black, RPU is helping provide more than $40 million each year into Riverside’s General Fund. That’s money that goes to funding police and fire services, reducing homelessness, repairing public infrastructure, expanding youth and senior programs, and improving streets and parks.
Riverside will soon be negotiating a new contract with our Utility Workers. It’s critical that our Mayor and City Council understand the important role these workers play – not only delivering water and power at low rates, but also providing a significant economic boost to our general fund.
